Microsoft Information Protection SDK 1.14: Now Available!

We're pleased to announce that the Microsoft Information Protection SDK version 1.14 is now generally available via NuGet and Download Center.

 

In this release of the Microsoft Information Protection SDK, we added support for CBC encryption of Office files by default, upgraded to Open SSL 3.0, added support for masking PII in log files, and more.

 

CBC Encryption by default for Office Files

We've made updates to how MIP SDK encrypts Office files, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email documents. Office documents and emails are now encrypted by default using 256-bit AES encryption in CBC mode.

 

Upgrade to Open SSL 3.0

We've made updates to upgrade to Open SSL 3.0. Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) compliance details to follow.

 

Mask PII in Log Files

We've added support for masking customer PII in log files. Personally Identifiable Information is not masked by default.
