Another month, another Windows Admin Center update – Preview 1808

The August update for Windows Admin Center Preview is now available to Windows Insiders! The monthly preview releases include new tools and capabilities marked as PREVIEW for evaluation and testing while the core platform continues to be production-ready. For IT admins who want more validation time for releases they use in production, you can use the current GA version 1804.25 .

New functionality:

  • New Settings tool for server settings and Hyper-V host settings on a server or across an entire cluster

  • VM Security settings now supported

  • Task scheduler now supports weekly/monthly triggers as well as multiple triggers

  • Azure Update management now supported in gateway mode

  • Hyper-Converged Infrastructure: Recommended reserve capacity and support for different screen resolutions

  • New Apps & Features tool and Windows Defender tool available as downloadable extensions
