Top Stories from the Microsoft DevOps Community – 2020.01.03

This post has been republished via RSS; it originally appeared at: Microsoft Developer Blogs - Feed.

This is the first post of 2020, and the community did not take a break for the holidays! Today, I am reminded of the importance of 101s and introductory trainings. Wherever you are on your (Azure) DevOps journey, this community has content for you!

GCast 68: Azure DevOps Work Items
We often think that everyone knows what we know, and tend towards sharing only deep-dive content. But when you are just getting started, 101 videos are fantastic. In this short video, David Giard shows us how to create and link Work Items in Azure Boards. Thank you, David!

How to Build an Azure Pipeline (Build/Release) from Scratch
In this well-organized guide, Adam Bertram and Peter De Tender walk us through creating a Build and Release pipeline to deploy a .NET Core app to an Azure Web App on Linux. Here, we start from scratch and create a new Azure DevOps organization, link a GitHub repo and then proceed to configure the Azure Pipelines. Thanks, Adam and Peter!

Angular 8 with Azure DevOps Build Pipeline
Application frameworks are perpetually evolving, and whether we like it or not, we must evolve with them. In this post, Daniel Oliver shows us the updates needed to build Angular 8 with Azure Pipelines, compared to Angular 7. And, of course, I have to quote that "Azure DevOps makes builds easy". Thank you, Daniel!

Getting Started with LightHouse CI
In this post, Gurucharan Subramani walks us through setting up the LightHouse CI to run in Azure Pipelines. Gurucharan created an Azure DevOps extension for running the LightHouse health checks and retrieving the results. Thank you Gurucharan!

Implementing Azure DevOps Development Processes
Last but not least, it is my pleasure to share that the Linux Academy is offering a class on Azure DevOps in January 2020. This course walks you through version control and branching strategies, build configurations, mobile deployments, secrets management and so much more. The course can be used in preparation for the AZ-400 Azure DevOps Expert certification exam. Thanks to Tim Lawless for crafting the course!

If you’ve written an article about Azure DevOps or find some great content about DevOps on Azure, please share it with the #AzureDevOps hashtag on Twitter!
